Well wouldn't you know it. 'Gus and I are unpacking more boxes...and guess what I found. Not in the mood to guess? Then I'll tell you.
I found unused film. That's right...unused. They are more than likely expired film also. How exciting.

'Gus has done a marvelous job of the house, while she has the week off from work. The office is coming along beautifully. We still have things scattered around a bit, but not as many boxes about. So that's nice. She definitely has more determination then I do, because it would have taken me months to do what she did.

Tomorrow's the last day of work before the 3 day weekend Holiday begins! I more than likely won't be posting anything for Friday, because I want to finish up getting the house ready before my parents come to visit.

Today's photo was taken at the Botanical Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia a few weekends ago. Have a seat.

'Cakes is packing up for Vegas as I type. She's leaving really early in the morning. Maybe 5:30? I'm not sure. She's going to have her 4th Muay Thai fight at Master Toddy's Gym. Look at her...smiling. Not very intimidating...is it? That was her plan all along. Her opponent thinks she's fighting some sort of Hello Kitty Character...and in fact she's going to be fighting a starving Lioness. Oh poor poor naive fool. Her fight is on July 4th. Good Luck Patty and have fun!

I went to the new academy tonight. It moved just down the road from us. I can walk there...if I don't run late. We took the car today, because we were late. But it took us 2 minutes by car. Wow. I love it. The space is much bigger also. That's super.

Today's photo was taken back in January. I'm not sure where I was, but my shadow perked my interested.

'Gus is giving 'Cakes a massage to help relax her before her trip to Vegas. There's lots of giggling going on in the other room. 'Cakes is a bit ticklish. 'Gus is super sweet...she's offered to give the other girl's a massage before they leave for Vegas. Wow. Sweet I tell you, sweet.

'Gus and I stayed up until midnight last night, putting a bookshelf and two desks together. I was exhausted the next morning. I'm still exhausted. I'll be hitting the sack soon. 'Gus and I put another bookshelf together tonight and I put some DVDs and books on it. It's completely full and I still have DVDs to put on there. One more bookshelf to go and hopefully all these boxes will be gone before the weekend. I can't wait. I want this house to be box free! It's looking good though.

Today I brought the Amish Friendship Bread to work...and can I tell you that my co-workers are savages. Two loaves were gone by the end of the day. Wow. Oh and David...a Amish Friendship Bread is a cake like bread. Someone gives you a 'Starter' in a zip-lock bag and you 'Mush' the contents for a couple of seconds a day for about 5 days. On the 5th day you add in flour, sugar, and milk. Next 4 days you 'Mush' the bag. The Final day (10th day) you add more flour, sugar, milk...take a cup of the mix and put in 4 more 'Starter' bags to give to 4 other poor naive people. With the leftover mix, you add in all the other ingredients and then bake 2 loaves of bread. It's not difficult, just a pain to remember to 'Mush' the bag.

I went to dinner with Uncle John, 'Gus, and my second cousin once removed and his wife tonight. He's British and she's American. How cool. So apparently I have a lot of relatives in England, so if I ever visit I have a place to stay. Wow, how nice! I'm going next week! No...not really, but one of these days I'll get back out there.

The giggling has stopped...'Cakes must finally be in the peaceful sacred state of mind now. How long will this last? Not long I'm sure.

Wow, I'm so tired. 'Gus and I left for Ikea 8:30 this morning. Ikea unfortunately is in Northern Virginia, which is about 3 to 3.5 hours away. We made good time. No traffic on the way there. We strolled around a bit, picked up a few small things and then headed to the furniture aisles. We had to get 2 large trolleys. The boxes were huge. 'Gus' desk came in 4 boxes. 3 for the bookshelf part and one for the actual desk part. My goodness. Loading up her car was almost a bear. Almost, because we were afraid that not all of our items would fit. But fit they did. One box had to go on the roof. I've never seen her car ride so low before. Crazy.

'Gus and I put one bookshelf together and now we're not sure about the placements of things. The bookshelf is awfully close to the fan. We're not crazy about the fan, but we'd like to have one to help circulate air in here. Ah, what to do what to do.

I have some Amish friendship bread baking in the oven right now. It's smells gorgeous. I should check on it soon. I don't want it burning. I'd be upset, because I've been messing with this recipe for 10 days. Bah.

'Cakes and I were the only ones at Cardio class tonight. Well...I figured as much. The other girl's were hosting a dinner at Coyote Cafe. 50% of the proceeds were going to the Hybrid Girl's Fight Team for their trip to Vegas. Hopefully they got a lot of folks there. Seemed like they did. Anyway, Cardio class finished early, so 'Cakes and I rushed down there. 'Gus couldn't join us, because she was working still. Bless her heart. She was there late. So, to make it up for her, I got her a 'Big Fat Chocolate Cake'. That's the name of the cake...I didn't make it up. She did a little bit of a dance when she saw it. I think she was pleased.

It was sad to hear about Farrah Fawcett losing her battle with cancer and then hearing about Michael Jackson dying. Rest in peace both.

Well, Congratulations are in order for my friend 'Pinky'. She's getting married. I wish you nothing but happiness for years and years and years and years...etc. etc. etc...You deserve it!

Unfortunately 'Cakes and I didn't go to the Slumlords today. I forgot a piece of paper that we wrote all our issues on when we first moved in. I swear I kept everything together...but no, it's not in my stack of papers. I can't find it. Sigh... Ah well, let's just turn in the keys and call it a day. I'm done with the place. Done I say!

I know this is a short post, but I'm pretty tired...and I hear Cheeky whining. She must want to go outside again...or eat something...or cuddle.

Today's photo was taken on Memorial Day weekend at 'Cakes' sister's house. Here's Cheeky in all her glory. She's on Jenny's lap...that's her hand on her rump. There's 'Gus checking out what we're doing. Mind your business. Then further back in the background is 'Cakes' Uncle Johnny with his grandchild.

Oh boy...the joys of Facebook have sucked me in again. I only attended to be on there for a bit, but got distracted once again.

Cheeky has been one whiny fool lately. She stares at us and and makes pigeon noises. It's cute and annoying at the same time. Cute at first, but then quietly gets annoying after 10 minutes of it. My goodness. I just fed you! You just went outside! We cuddled! What else do you need/want?! Speak to me. I wish she could speak to me...Ah I love her. She's cute.

Tomorrow 'Cakes and I are turning in our keys to the slumlords! Horrah! We'll finally be done with them!

'Gus and I went for a run after work today instead of going to Kickboxing. I was surprised at how long I kept on running, even though I still had to stop 3 times. It's a work in progress. 'Gus wants 'Cakes and I to do a Mud Run Event with her this August. Apparently we get dirty...I don't think it's necessarily mud that we run through, but more like wet sand. Either way, it wet and sandy, and it's in August so it's going to be hot. I'm scared. Maybe it'll be more like quick sand and it'll put me out of my misery. Nah...'Gus enjoyed it the last time she did it. She's an odd bird as it is anyway.

Tomorrow I have a consultation with a sleep study clinic. Maybe they'll tell me that I stop breath at nights while I sleep. Lately I've been sleeping pretty great. I think it's mostly during allergy season when I stop breathing. Hmmm...we'll see.

Today's photo was taken a couple of months ago at Yorgo's Bageldashery in Ghent. What a fantastic Bagel shop. I looove their breakfast sandwiches, although I finally had a roastbeef sandwich there the other day that was gorgeous. Mmmm!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day Weekend. I called my dad today to wish him a Happy Father's Day. He's not much of a chatter, but I think he appreciated the call. Yesterday (Saturday) was so stinking hot and humid. It was ridiculous. The girl's and I helped with a Yard Sale. It was a fund raiser for the Girl Fighters to go to Vegas and fight. I think they made a good amount of money from the yard sale. So good job.

When I got home, I was done. I passed out for about an hour. Heat sure does drain me.

Next weekend 'Gus and I are heading up to Ikea to buy office furniture. We'll finally be able to put our stuff away and get rid of these boxes in the office! Horray! 'Cakes and I are FINALLY going to turn in our keys to our slumlords this week. We just haven't had the time to get down to Norfolk to turn the keys in. But this will be the lucky week.

Rain rain rain. It's been raining a lot lately. I suppose that's good though, it helps my so called 'Victory Garden' grow. I'm happy to say that I've got some flower buds coming up from the squash plants. Lovely. I looove squash. Green, yellow...yum yum.

'Gus and I went for a run today. She didn't want to go to kickboxing today so she asked me to run with her. Ugh. Torture. I haven't ran in months and it shows. Wow. Plus it's pretty darn humid out there right now. Hopefully the rain will help cool things down, but more than likely it'll just get more humid. Fun.

Tomorrow I'll be getting a haircut. This humidity is not doing me any favors with my hairdo. It's ridiculous. I'm not sure what I want done, so I'll just tell Tonya the same thing I tell her every time. 'Oh, I don't know, whatever you think. Maybe short in the back long in the front.' Same 'ol same 'ol.

Today's photo was taken back in January in Ghent. As Cheeky and I were walking around the neighborhood, I was pleasantly surprised to see these beauties hovering above. I didn't have my camera that day, but promised I'd be back the following day with my camera.
