Camera: Holga
Listening to: Black Cherry - Goldfrapp
My new camera is here! How exciting. I played around with it a bit. It's just lovely. I even got a telephoto lens on it. NICE! Getting it kind of reminds me of when I helped purchase a new digital camera for my job at the Roanoke Times. It was pretty beautiful and I wanted to play with it during the weekend. My friends and I were going on a Canoe ride down the New River and I thought...'Hmmm, what a great time to take the new Digital Camera for a test drive!' But then I got scared and decided not to bring it. Good thing, because that's the day Mrs. KW, Cheeky, and I tipped our canoe in to the New River. Not fun and way scary. I'm sure I told you this story before. It took us a while to get the Canoe back up right and my camera bag with my Twin Lens floated down river. Luckily our other friends were down there and they grabbed my camera bag. Twin Lens works perfectly fine also. I had it sent off to get cleaned though. Anyway, don't worry I won't be taking this camera in the water. That's for sure. If I do go on a canoe trip again, I'll have my trusty Holgas with me and a Life Jacket on Cheeky.
The Mocha Espresso Cake was a hit at the office today. That makes me feel good. Now I won't feel to scared to bring in the Mocha Espresso Birthday Cake to my co-worker tomorrow. Patty and I made a Birthday Cake and a little small cake for extra. The extra was a test cake. Glad everyone liked it!
Alright, that's enough of that. Today's photo is from 2000-2002. I had just graduated from Radford and was taking extra photography classes while I worked a full time job...for fun. I picked this photo because of my new digital camera and the memory of what happened the day of our Canoe Trip disaster. This was not the Canoe Trip Disater, this was a very calm Kayak Trip around the New River. Cheeky was with me, sitting on my lap while I paddled and snapped shots. My arms were in so much pain the next few days from all the paddling. The other Kayaker was my photography friend Kathleen.
